The Kettle Moraine Garden Club (KMGC) is a member of The Garden Club of America, (GCA).  Club members reside primarily in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, approximately 20 to 30 miles west of Milwaukee, in what is commonly known to locals as Lake Country. 

The goals of KMGC & GCA are:

  • To stimulate the knowledge and love of gardening, floral design, and nature photography

  • To share knowledge through meetings, conferences, correspondence, and publications

  • To restore, improve, and protect the quality of the environment through educational programs and action in the fields of conservation and civic improvement

 

KMGC general membership meetings are usually held the third Thursday afternoon of the month, April through October.  Small juried flower shows that include horticulture, flower arranging and photography entries are held at most general meetings.  Workshops, hikes, field trips and other activities are scheduled throughout the year.

 

KMGC provides grants to area non-profit organizations for civic, educational, and

conservation projects.  In addition, two $1,500 scholarships are awarded annually to  undergraduate students in a horticultural field. See the Grants/Scholarships page for more information and forms.

 

The primary fundraising activity of the Kettle Moraine Garden Club is the Holly Berry Luncheon held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving at the Chenequa Country Club which includes a silent auction, raffle, bake sale, and holiday decorations sale.  All money raised at this event is used to fund the charitable gifts and scholarship programs. 

 

Art en Fleurs, one of only eight major GCA flower shows in the US, is held every three years.  It is hosted at an area venue by four Zone XI (Midwest) Wisconsin GCA clubs. 

 

The show provides competitive opportunities for GCA members in flower arranging, nature photography and horticultural specimens.  Free to the public.  It is a stimulating educational event.
